1. Go the unassigned filter in Jira (Dashboards > Admin Dashboard > AEA tasks by Assignee section > scroll down to “Unassigned”).

  2. We typically prioritize these journals:
    • AER and AERI
    • JEL and JEP (they expect a two week turnaround)
  3. Open the “Replication Project Resumes” spreadsheet and see which RA’s have experience with the software used in the paper.
  4. Open another JIRA tab and navigate to the Dashboards dropdown and choose “Admin Dashboard.” Here we can take a closer look at how much each RA is working on at the moment. Choose an assignee who has the bandwith to complete the case in a reasonable time frame and who has the requisite knowledge of the softwares used.
    • All RAs should have at least two main Jira tasks assigned, which means around 5-7 tasks in their queue, including the subtasks. If they have less than that, assign them a new case.
  5. Once you decide which case to assign to who, go to the Jira ticket and open the openICPSR project link.

  6. Copy the RA’s email from the “Replication Project Resumes” spreadsheat. Click “Share Project” in openICPSR and paste the email.

  7. Choose to allow access to download.

  8. Transition the issue from “Open” to “Assigned” in Jira and fill in the Assignee field

  9. If applicable, leave any relevant comments and tag the RA. For example
    • Note that this case is a Revision
    • Note that this case used restricted access data
    • “Part A was already completed, so you just have to do Part B and C” or whatever.

One final step while in OpenICPSR is to check to see if authors have “submitted” the project on openICPSR. If the status is not already “SUBMITTED” then post a note in the Project Communication Log asking them to choose “Change status”, then submit.
