Reproducible Research with Sensitive and Restricted Data
Date:
Workshop at Syracuse University Campbell Public Affairs Institute, Syracuse, NY
More and more journals require that you share your code and data in a replication package at the end of your research project. That can be a challenge, when some parts of your research data are confidential. There are many ways to construct a replication package, and even more situations in which confidential data are housed. Following some best practices from day 1 can not only help you prepare this package later, but also make you more productive researchers.
Lars Vilhuber has supervised reproducibility checks for over 3,000 papers as AEA Data Editor, but has also work in and for confidential research data centers (RDCs) in several countries. The presentation will focus on setting you up for reproducible success when working with confidential data, wherever that may be.
