06_check_duplicates_and_zero_bytes.sh - Find duplicate and empty files

Description¶

Uses the checksums and sizes from 02_create_manifest.sh to find files with identical content and files with zero bytes. It prints a summary to the log and writes two Markdown reports, which 24_amend_report.sh copies into the report.

Usage¶

./automations/06_check_duplicates_and_zero_bytes.sh <directory> [tag] [date]

• directory - Deposit directory (used in the log summary).

• tag - Optional suffix of the manifest files to read.

• date - Date stamp of the manifest, YYYY-MM-DD (default: today). Pass it when the manifest was created on a different day.

Inputs and outputs¶

• Reads generated/manifest[.tag].<date>.sha256 and generated/metadata[.tag].txt

• Writes generated/duplicate-files-report[.tag].<date>.md and generated/zero-byte-files-report[.tag].<date>.md
