Description¶
Detects the software the deposit uses (Stata, R, Python, MATLAB, SAS, Julia, and others) from generated/programs-metadata[.tag].csv (written by 04_list_program_files.sh) and the kernel language of notebooks. It adds any newly found software to the Jira issue’s “Software used” checkboxes, and anything that is not a checkbox option to “Software used (other)”. Existing values are never removed. The work is done by tools/jira_update_software.py.
The Jira ticket is taken from $jiraticket, then config.yml, then looked up from an openICPSR directory.
Usage¶
./automations/26_update_jira_software.sh <project-dir> [tag]project-dir- Deposit directory (used to inspect.ipynbkernels).tag- Optional suffix of the metadata file.
Standard output carries only the “Software detected: ...” line. The pipelines capture it and pass it to 70_publish_comment.sh, so the information reaches Jira even if writing the field fails. The exit code is that of the Python tool; the pipelines append || true.
